Laura McInerney

Laura McInerney teaches Citizenship, PSHE and Social Science at an inner-city London school. She is a member of the 3rd MAPP cohort at UEL and interested in studying positive teaching styles and relationships. In 2008, Laura received the TeachFirst Excellent Teacher Award and was praised for the use of positive behaviour management and quality relationships in her classroom. She shares her ideas on education at dailyteachingtips.blogspot.com. Additionally, she is employed by Canterbury Christ Church as a Citizenship Lecturer on the TeachFirst Programme and for her MAPP project Laura is working with TeachFirst to encourage the use of positive psychology among new teachers. Laura is currently evaluating two possible Positive Psychology dissertation topics: (1) the benefits of shared learning metaphors between students and teachers, or (2) the use of positive psychology in seduction communities/coaching. She would be thrilled to hear from anyone interested in either topic, or teaching-related positive psychology topics.
